Professor in the Faculty of International, Political and Urban Studies. She has a Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of Miami and an M.A. in Latin American Studies from Georgetown University.

Tickner’s main areas of research include sociology of knowledge in the field of International Relations and the evolution on IR in non-Western settings, Latin American and hemispheric security, and Colombian foreign policy and Colombian-United States relations. She also writes a weekly newspaper column in the Colombian daily, El Espectador.
