My principal research interest is the mathematical modeling and computer simulation of cardiac electrophysiological systems. For this purpose, I apply fractional calculus, signal processing and machine learning techniques. I belong to a research network in Medellin, Colombia, that has won research grants related with atrial fibrillation, atrial fibrosis and the effect of air pollutants on the cardiac electrical system. I also have experience in acquiring and processing data from cell cultures using an optical mapping system.
