Londoño Rueda, Juan José  |  Investigador

Juan José Londoño received his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Universidad EAFIT, Medellin, Colombia in 2017, and a Master’s in Engineering from the same institution in 2019. There, he was a member of the Bioengineering Research Group and worked on research topics like FE modelling of orthodontic treatments, virtual surgical planning, cranial and maxillofacial implant design, and development of porous implant polymer-ceramic composites. During his Master’s studies, he interned at the Smart Biomaterials Research Laboratory from Temple University, Philadelphia (USA), where he worked on a novel piezoelectric dental composite with antibiofilm properties. He then worked in the Institute of Mechanics and Engineering I2M of the Université de Bordeaux, France, in the development of a new dental implant concept. Juan José joined the BIOREMIA European Training Network in September 2020 as an Early-Stage Researcher at PX Services SA (Switzerland), and will pursue a doctoral degree in Material Science and Technology from Montanuniversität Leoben (Austria). His PhD project aims to achieve excellent bactericidal properties in precious metal-based metallic glasses for dental applications by chemical, microstructural, and topographical modifications.
