The goal of this research was to review the scientific production about suicide in children, using the bibliometric analysis based on published articles between 1985-2005 in the Lilacs, Medline, Ebsco Host and Ovid data bases. Eighty-four articles were checked being USA the country with most production (65,85% of the published works). Almost all of the articles are signed by one, two or three authors. The most productive authors are Shaffer, King, Kazdin, Jiang, Rosenbaum, Bridge, Axelson, Brent, Ryan and Mann, each one with two published works and Pfeffer with four works. The most common contents are the theoretical studies of children suicide (concepts, accomplished suicide, suicidal ideation and suicidal intention) and the children's suicide assessment.
