This article presents the results of the study on the top management team at Suramericana as a multibusiness firm. This qualitative study focuses on the ques-tion ?What characterizes a top management team that manages a multibusiness firm?? The observable characteristics of the senior management team members have an impact on the way the team faces aspects specific to multibusiness firms. Management must go beyond competitive strategies to face the challen-ges of the corporate strategy, specifically regarding the coordination of diverse businesses and capturing potential synergies.
