Abstracto
- This study is aimed at establishing if given the research condition and the appropriation of knowledge in Colombia, does the country present capture (attraction, retention, importation) or drain (expulsion, exportation) dynamics for knowledge? On the basis of the analysis of two variables: international collaboration in academic journals indexed in Scopus (1940-may up to 2011); and the country of origin of the magazines that spread out the Colombian works indexed in Scopus (1940-may up to 2011); the hypothesis that regardless of the new knowledge creation deficient conditions and the low science appropriation, Colombia is not a net knowledge importer (capture) and in some cases presents net exports (expulsion, drain), is confirmed, associated with the limited knowledge retention capacity of the territory.
