El aleamiento mecánico como alternativa tecnológica para producir carburos de titanio -TiC uri icon


  • Using the mechanical alloy technique was obtained the TiC from titanium dioxide, aluminum and graphite powders. In this process was using the attritor milling type with a milling intensity represented in a ball mass to powder mass 40 to 1 ratio. The selected milling times were 5, 7, 12, 18 and 36h. The obtained material was characterized by x-ray diffraction and Scanning electron microscopy. The TiC compound synthesis was corroborated because of the presence of the characteristic peaks in the x-ray diffractograms. The material yielded at 36 h. was used to produce targets once they were compacted and sinterized, SEM characterization was used to evaluate the level of sinterization.
