Federmán Rodríguez is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of International, Political and Urban Studies at Rosario University. He holds a BA in Political Science and Government and a MA in Political and International Studies from Rosario University and a PhD in Political Science from Carleton University (Ottawa-Canada). During his doctoral studies, he awarded the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (2018), the International Doctoral Excellence Program (2017-2018) and the Carl Jacobsen Peace Prize (2019-2020). Also, he was nominated to a Carleton University Senate Medal for Outstanding Graduate Work at the Doctoral level (2021).

He is the author of numerous publications on American foreign policy, Canadian foreign policy, international relations theories and national security in Colombia and Latin America. His more recent book is Canadá y la Seguridad Internacional: Discursos Liberales y Realistas de una Potencia Media en Transformación (2017). His next publication will be the book chapter “Canadian Security and Defence Policies Towards Latin America: Liberal Engagement or Harsh Realism?” in an edited book by the University of Toronto Press.

He has been a course instructor of Fundamental Political Concepts (BA course), International Relations Theories (BA and MA courses), and Research Design (MA course) at the Rosario University. He also was a Teaching Assistant in the courses Global Politics, World Politics, IR: Global Politics, and American Foreign Policy in the Department of Political Science at Carleton University. His current research and teaching interests are international relations theories, international security and American and Canadian foreign and security policies.
