Dr. García is medical doctor from Universidad del Rosario in Colombia. She did her training in Psychiatry at the same university and then studied her fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. She has taught psychiatry to medical students at Universidad del Rosario for more than 15 years, and now coordinate its Psychiatry Residency Training program. She has experience in therapeutic work with children and adolescents in psychosocial vulnerable situations, in care programs with different approaches, attending high risk populations. She has carried out her clinical work in her private practice for more than 17 years. She has been peer evaluator of Psychiatry programs accreditation in other Colombian universities. She has been speaker in conferences aimed for parents, schools and academic settings. She participated in several webinars on topics related to the Covid-19 pandemic and its impact on mental health. She is a member of Colombian Psychiatry Association, also a member of Cersame research group and serve as tutor of Psygur, Psychiatry interest group at Universidad del Rosario. She has been co-author of books on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and I also have several publications in indexed journals. Her current interests include research in mental health of children and adolescents, with emphasis on emotional development and approach to situations of vulnerability or psychopathology in this population, all within the framework of her academic activity as a teacher of both medical and psychiatry students.
