Master in Economics from Universidad de la Andes and Master in Analysis of Contemporary Political, Economic and International Problems from Universidad Externado de Colombia. Economist and Historian from the Universidad de los Andes.
He has served as Deputy Director of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE), president of the Board of Directors of the Agustín Codazzi Geographical Institute (IGAC), director of the Municipal Institute of Culture and Tourism of Bucaramanga. Advisor in International Cooperation in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia and member of the Chicago-Bogotá committee of Sister Cities of the city of Chicago. Consultancy experience for the United Nations (UN-Habitat), Inter-American Development Bank, Mission of the City System of the Department of National Planning, Econometrics and the Chamber of Commerce of Bucaramanga.
He served as Professor and Researcher at the School of Economics of the Industrial University of Santander in the period between 2006 and 2017. He has been an academic peer of the National Accreditation Council.
