Este artículo recoge y analiza los desencuentros de dos épocas con respecto a su particularinterpretación sobre la obra de la artista plástica Débora Arango. Sirviéndose de los planteamientosde Berger y Luckmann, presenta una interpretación sobre la causa de la condenaque sufre la pintora al inicio de su carrera y la exaltación de la que es objeto en los últimosaños de su vida. Muestra, finalmente, el nexo de este fenómeno social con la transformaciónde los roles de género, asociados al paso entre la sociedad tradicional a la moderna, y los procesosque para el grupo humano implicó este cambio.
This article describes and analyzes the disagreements of two periods with respect totheir particular interpretation on the work of the artist Debora Arango. Drawing on the ideasof Berger and Luckmann, we present an interpretation for the cause of the condemnationthat the artist suffered early in her career, and the exaltation of her work in the last years ofher life. Finally, the article shows the connection of this social phenomenon with the transformationof gender roles; also, the transition from a traditional society to a more modernone, and the processes that this implied for the group of people involved in this change.
